You’ve heard of Roomware®? You’re probably thinking of a large interactive table or an interactive holographic plate?

InterWall® and InteracTable®

You might be interested in learning about the remarkable developments through which this innovative concept – so expeditious for teamwork and conferencing, for consulting and learning environments – has gone in the last ten months.
ƒoresee™ – a recently established Wilkhahn subsidiary – has demonstrated in many projects how to turn a vision into an innovative working reality. This newsletter is intended to keep you up to date on these developments. Telling you about projects, events and cooperations as well as giving you insights into new applications and technologies. We hope you enjoy your read!

Our intention is to use the first part of this newsletter to report on the many events and fairs at which Roomware has showcased. For the second half of the newsletter, with reports on projects, click here.

Roomware on Tour

2005 was a year in which marketing activities were definitely very successful. Following on from Swissbau in Basel and a joint presentation at the "KAP am Südkai" (a very interesting initiative organised by companies from Germany, Denmark and Austria involved in design and architecture) during the International Furniture Fair (imm) in Cologne, our very own exhibition then took place in February in the heart of Berlin.

Berlin - over the Kurfürstendamm
Together with software partners MACINA interactive media and Macromedia, and fully supported by Wilkhahn Berlin, ƒoresee™ extended invitations to current and prospective customers to join them at the Europacenter in Berlin. This venue, looking across to the Memorial church and the Kurfürstendamm, was ideal for one-on-one talks. Our guests were not half as impressed by the wonderful vistas as they were by the products and concepts presented indoors.

                                                                                                                               Roomware and Berlin's skyline.

The evening event included a presentation by Frank Sonder, ƒoresee™ general manager, at which we were pleased to welcome more than 80 guests and concluded a very satisfying week. We have already put more plans into action and are busy organising a follow-on event in our new Berlin showrooms this coming December.

From Berlin the scene changes to sunny France...

Cannes - at the MIPIM, rubbing shoulders with the property industry
In early March, ƒoresee™ joined up with Italian-based project developer EURODOMUS to showcase at Europe's principal property fair, the MIPIM in Cannes. The concepts and software applications presented by foreseeTM to enhance the marketing of private and commercial real estate were of special interest to a very enthusiastic audience. The Roomware components demonstrated at the fair are now implemented by EURODOMUS to great effect in their interactive showroom in Rome.

ƒoresee™ finally returned home after presenting at one more property fair, Expo Italia in Milan...

Hanover - at the world's largest IT fair, CeBIT
ƒoresee™ and MACINA, its software partner, set up on a 250 sqm stand to present interactive solutions specifically customised to the fields of co-operating, co-ordinating, consulting and coaching. Lower Saxony's premier, Christian Wulff, was by no means the only party thoroughly impressed by the innovative concepts. The fair was a springboard, helping us establish contacts with international customers from Europe, Eastern Europe, Asia, the Near East and the Middle East, talks that in a number of cases resulted in successful deals after the fair.

Not only Lower Saxony’s premier likes Roomware.

ƒoresee™ was also active in the Middle East...

Dubai - property developments and investments at Cityscape 2005
Together with MACINA, ƒoresee™ was able to acquire a project for Dubai International Properties (DIP) in September 2005. A multimedia interactive concept was developed and implemented with local agencies for a large 250 sqm exhibition stand at the Middle East's acknowledged top property fair. The core of the stand, both in terms of content and space, was a black InteracTable®, which, with its two smaller interactive tables (ConsulTable®), really did create a furore from the word “Go”. The large-scale display format meant customers had a great time while interactively gleaning information about DIP's worldwide projects. Such was the level of interest that even Dubai's Crown Prince and head of government, Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum, visited the stand to have a close up look at the innovative real estate marketing concept realised with the InteracTable.

The Sheikh is impressed by the InteracTable, if a little hesitant to try it out.

ƒoresee™ is not only a much sought after partner at fairs...

London - 300 top ranking guests at WorkTech conference
The British Library in London was the venue for the WorkTech conference in early November. The objective of this annual conference is to bring together innovative technologies and all the latest happenings in today's world of work as well as trying to pinpoint out future international trends. ƒoresee™ organised an exhibition of contemporary solutions to complement the conference proper under the title "Team Room of the Future". This team room provided speakers and participants, usually members of the senior management of firms in real estate (Foster & Partners architects, DEGW, BBC Property), banking (Barclays Bank, Deutsche Bank, Royal Bank of Scotland), pharmaceuticals (Glaxosmithkiline) and the computer industry (Toshiba, HP) with a live opportunity to get to know and appreciate InteracTable and InterWall®. The excellent contacts established at this occasion definitely hold a great deal of promise for the future.

Roomware was in good company at the WorkTech conference in the British Library in London.

And on top of all that, ƒoresee™ also found time to present at the PALME in Dubai, the Steinbeis Congress "innovation through co-operation" in Stuttgart, the FM fair in Frankfurt, Office 2005 in Dubai and Expo Real in Munich. And the year is not over yet. At the ILM conference (real estate, life cycle, management) in Düsseldorf, the focus is again on themes and issues relating to the property industry. Just before Christmas the tour touches down for a joint presentation event with Philips Design at the International Design Centre in Berlin (IDZ), marking this year's close. More about this in our next newsletter.
