It all started with some questions: why does an increasing rate of media discontinuity
block our thinking although it is the digital age? What should furniture look like that
allows teamwork on the computer? What could a digital work environment look like
with technology that does not make people afraid of using it, but in fact encourages
creativity?
With the InteracTable we have found an innovative answer: a high table with a large-format, interactive screen integrated into the table surface which serves as a shared working surface for project groups. The InteracTable combines high tech with familiar work practices: it is operated by means of a pen or a finger, instead of a keyboard or mouse.
The design as a “normal” high table creates a familiar atmosphere for discussions and allows natural integration in normal seminar and conference interiors. Above all, the InteracTable allows all those involved in a project to meet in an informal atmosphere. Such a work environment promotes creativity and innovation, and supports shared processing of complex information structures, for example project plans and engineering drawings.
